The team at FLOURISH Fine Gardening is growing! Gardeners thrive in our collaborative environment, honing skills while caring for beautiful outdoor spaces. What We’re Looking For:
We are hiring a Head Gardener to lead crews in maintenance tasks on client properties. We are looking for someone with gardening knowledge and experience, as well as someone who can be an observant, communicative, and passionate member of our larger team.

Responsibilities:

In a leadership role, you will manage assigned client properties as follows:

  • Assess and address garden maintenance priorities at each visit.
  • Follow up promptly on additional maintenance tasks as identified by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage each property’s workflow throughout the season to optimize both client satisfaction and consistency of work hours.
  • Weed, deadhead, mulch, and prune. Plant annuals, perennials, shrubs, and the occasional tree.
  • Supervise crewpersons and train them to accomplish the above garden tasks effectively.
  • Adjust irrigation seasonally and as needed; make small irrigation repairs.
  • Communicate with clients in person as needed.
  • Communicate with coworkers and Maintenance/Project Managers with questions and to plan to address property needs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude through the various tasks, challenges, and weather conditions of a garden maintenance season. Lead crewpersons to do the same.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Horticultural training and experience:
    • On-the-job experience as a gardener in Colorado.
    • Familiarity with landscape trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals common to this region.
    • Notice and identify plant health issues in the garden.
    • Evaluate aesthetic components of residential landscapes.
    • A working knowledge of irrigation controllers and irrigation system components.
    • Horticulture degree or Colorado Gardener Certification is preferred (colloquially known as “Master Gardener” training.)
  • Physical capacity:
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
    • Ability to bend over and work at ground level while standing.
    • Ability to work cheerfully in various weather conditions: cold, light rain, heat.
  • Organizational and interpersonal capacity:
    • Leadership skills: specific experience in a gardening leadership role is preferred.
    • Organizational skills: Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to stay on schedule. Ability to plan ahead for daily and weekly tasks and to source needed materials (fertilizers, debris bags, etc.) in advance.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, manager, and company owner as needed. Ability to remain friendly, respectful, tidy, attentive to detail, and responsive to client wishes.
    • A love of plants, gardens, gardening with and for nice people, and working outdoors.

This position begins in early March 2026. Our regular maintenance season runs from early March through November with potential for limited winter work. Compensation is an hourly competitive wage plus an end-of-season bonus. A work truck and company uniforms are provided.

FLOURISH Fine Gardening is hiring Garden Crew Members to join our team in mid-March 2026. We work outside, caring for beautiful home landscapes in Boulder County! Experience in this field is helpful but not required. We welcome full-time and part-time applicants.

What We’re Looking For:

At FLOURISH Fine Gardening, we seek to hire Garden Crew Members who:

  • Love caring for clients’ outdoor spaces
  • Delight in the changing nature of garden work throughout the seasons
  • Desire to horticultural best practices while weeding, pruning, deadheading, and planting
  • Prioritize professionalism, mutual respect, and the highest quality standards

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experience with professional farming, gardening, or in other production-type professions
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • Appreciate plants and beautiful garden spaces
  • Can learn on the job
  • Are in good physical condition and are able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Are able to bend over and work at ground level
  • Are able to work outside in the heat and cold (we don’t usually work in the rain or snow)
  • Have your own car for transportation
  • Are friendly and respectful
